Editorial policy
Southern Match Journal aims to make football easier to read through careful explanations, clear distinctions and honest corrections. Our articles are editorial work, not professional coaching advice or a substitute for watching the match in context.
Accuracy and clarity
We check claims against the material available to us and write with care about what an explanation can establish. Football language can be used in different ways, so we explain our meaning when a term is not self-evident. We do not present a tactical interpretation as the only possible reading of a match.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a commercial relationship. A partner does not receive control over coverage, conclusions or the selection of editorial subjects. We will not present promotional claims as independent analysis.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or an unclear explanation, use the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and amend published material when warranted, making a clear note where the change materially affects the meaning.
Partners and illustrations
Paid, gifted or partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that is the case, the image is identified accordingly. Illustrations are not evidence of a match event.
